Best Newborn Session

How can you make sure to get the best newborn session for your little one? There are a lot of tricks that we newborn photographers have up our sleeves. Ways to make sure every little one is comfortable and sleepy.

The first step in ensuring the best newborn session is working out your due date.

When an expecting mother books her newborn session with me, I mark their due date on the calendar. Of course, not very many babies show up right on their due date. So, I always make sure to keep my calendar open enough to work around each little one and their arrivals.

This baby boy was no different. Not only did he not show up on his due date but, he showed up one month early! We waited a couple of weeks for his session and when he came in, he still weighed in at only 5lbs but, boy was he a cutie.

After you let me know your little one has arrived, we’ll begin to work out the details of your session. We’ll choose colors and props, as well as decide on whether or not you’d like to include family and parent shots. For this little guys session, we used a lot of dark blues and greys. I love using dark colors for baby boys. They just add such a richness to each image.

Here are some of my favorite images from this little guys session.
